Division of Guardian Police K2 - Katy officers are state-certified law enforcement officers (LEO) with full arrest powers and authority. Each sworn Division of Guardian Police K2 - Katy officer is required to successfully complete specific training to achieve their LEO certifications. Subjects taught are DCJS mandated. Officers are required to complete the following:

• Basic Police Academy within one year of employment
• Physical fitness standards
• Firearms qualifications annually
• 160 hours of field training
• 40 hours of in-service training every two years
• First Aid, CPR and AED annually
